Chong Yee gave a series of three 3 hour lectures on Biotech Patent Law and Practice to students on the Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property (GCIP) course March 2009. The GCIP course is jointly organised by the IP Academy, Singapore and Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore.

The course dealt in detail with the biotech directive, exclusions from patentability, methods of medical treatment, surgery and diagnosis, defining chemical entities and included a session to introduce students to biotech and chemical patent drafting.
